Ms. Siti Syuhada Sapno

Why did you choose this programme?

My love for animals and watching wildlife documentaries
made me choose ‘Ecology & Biodiversity’ as my first
choice for a degree program. I then felt like I fell into a
pot of gold when I found out I could major in either
zoology or botany!
In this BSc in Ecology and Biodiversity program, learning
plenty of topics on corals, mammals, aquaculture, animal
behaviour and many more has taught me that there are
just so many things to do for research and conservation. I
grew a sense of curiosity to explore and discover these
topics happening in Malaysia.

Actively networking, meeting up and joining various programmes in this field has sharpen my
communication and other soft skills. Highlights of this programe are learning skills and gaining
knowledge such as ethics in handling wildlife, observation and identification skills, proper
management of field equipment, and current issues in the conservation field. I find that having
the opportunity to do these during the program is important as it is applied during internship
and later, in the working life.
