               About The department

          The core business of the Social Administration Programme is
          social  planning,  social  policy  as  well  as  social  work.  It
          produces  and  trains  human  service  managers  and  social
          workers to solve social problems using relevant intervention
          techniques.  Hence  the  department  is  committed  to
          producing skilled human capital equipped with various social
          work  practices  and  techniques,  which  enable  them  to
          address  various  social  problems  threatening  societal
          wellbeing.  The  department  offers  critical  courses  such  as
          social work, social administration, social policy, social welfare,
          social management and social justice line with the main core
          of the department human services.
          The    establishment   of   the   Department   of   Social
          Administration  and  Justice,  Faculty  of  Arts  and  Social
          Sciences, Universiti Malaya was approved in 1987, and the first
          session began on March 29, 1993. The primary function of the
          department    is   to   provide   quality   education   at
          Undergraduate,  Masters,  and  PhD  levels  in  the  field  of
          human    services.   The   ultimate   goal   of   the   Social
          Administration  Program  is  to  produce  professional,  ethical,
          and  committed  human  services,  who  contribute  to  the
          development  and  wellbeing  of  the  nation.  The  Department
          of  Social  Administration  and  Justice  alumni  are  currently
          working  as  medical  social  work  officers,  welfare  officers,
          administrative  and  diplomatic  officers,  police  officers,
          immigration officers, educators, and bankers.
