           hong lou meng research centre

           Hong Lou Meng Research Centre, University of Malaya was established on 15 December 2018. It is
           located in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and is attached to the Department of Chinese
           Studies  office.  The  objectives  are  to  enhance  interest  and  level  of  UM  researchers  in  classical
           literature, broaden the dissemination of translated famous classical works into the Malay language
           world and establish a platform for international exchange, strengthen the exchange of redology
           globally, and promote the dissemination of redology culture in Southeast Asia.

           humanistic buddhism research centre


           Humanistic Buddhism Research Centre, University of Malaya has been established in 2021 in the
           Faculty  of  Art  and  Social  Science,  University  of  Malaya  with  the  collaboration  of  Fo  Guang  Shan
           Education Centre Malaysia. HBRCUM is the first Humanistic Buddhism Research Centre that has
           been set up in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia and Southeast Asia to carry out research
           regarding  the  humanities,  social  sciences,  the  teachings  of  Buddha  and  Humanistic  Buddhism.
           HBRC  aims  to  provide  local  and  international  students  and  the  full-time  staff  of  UM,  including
           academic staff, contractual staff, researchers and research assistants, post-Doctorate, Master and
           Doctorate research students, Master and Doctorate course students and undergraduate students
           to carry out the above research.

           malaysian indian research centre

           The Department of Indian Studies at the University of Malaya is committed to advancing Malaysian
           Indian (MI) studies through the Research Centre for Malaysian Indians (RCMI). The Centre aims to
           elevate  the  university's  standing  by  amassing  resources  and  encouraging  researchers  and
           students  to  utilize  them  effectively.  Leveraging  strong  partnerships  with  international  institutes
           across  various  countries,  the  RCMI  seeks  to  create  a  platform  for  scholars,  including  those  from
           non-Tamil-speaking  backgrounds,  to  address  local  concerns  within  the  global  context  of  MI
           studies.  Moreover,  the  Centre  aims  to  introduce  Indian/Tamil  research  to  Malaysian  society,
           fostering  mutual  understanding  and  national  unity,  thereby  contributing  significantly  to  nation-
           building.
