3.11 MULTIMEDIA DIVISION (BMM)

3.11.1 Background

Multimedia Division was formed in late 2009. The division was established to enable the all
application and digital content materials can be developed and integrated perfectly. The
division is also responsible for all digital content needs of University of Malaya such as
developing interactive multimedia materials and producing posters, advertisements, website
graphics and photography, Video Teaching and Learning Services in order to improve the
learning process and so on.

3.11.2 Functions

• To provide facilities and support for academic staff in providing interactive multimedia
presentation materials for teaching and learning.
• To provide guidelines for using and operate as a reference centre for academic staff to
design and develop appropriate interactive multimedia materials.
• To develop interactive multimedia instructional and learning presentation materials in
tandem with the development of e-learning technology.
• To jointly plan, manage and prepare in developing digital video and audio material for
teaching and learning to ensure that the goals of e-Learning meet the guidelines set by The
University of Malaya.
• To provide video recordings, webcasts and video conferencing for the needs of The
University of Malaya.
