                Learning Outcomes         At the end of the course, students are able to:
                                          1. Explain underlying concepts associated with sport history and philosophy.
                                          2. Discuss the importance and relevance of ethics in sport over time.
                                          3. Analyse the role sport played in history.
                Synopsis of Course Contents   In the early stage of course, students will be exposed to basic concepts related to history
                                          and philosophy of sport that are inherent in the modern western sport including Olympic
                                          idealism and domestic traditional sport practice. In the following stages, students will discuss
                                          local sport structure and sport organizations in Malaysia as  well as explain the roles of social
                                          institutions, politics, and economy that affect sporting life in Malaysia since the 15th century.
                                          The discussion on the blending of  “Western” and “Malaysian” sport culture will be included.

                                          1. List and describe the areas of study and profession in sport science academia.
                                          2. Be ready for the demand expected of them in going through successfully in their studies.
                                          3. Analyse the opportunities, challenges and potentials for them entering the sport-related
                                          profession.

                Synopsis of Course Contents   Students will be exposed to the concept of sport science and the various area of studies in
                                          the field of sport science. The intention of the course is to get the students ready as learners
                                          and  future  professionals  in  sport  science.  The  course  will  give  a  clear  picture  of  the
                                          opportunities, challenges and career potential in the world of sport science for students
                                          to get involved in after graduation.
