Course Learning At the end of the course, students are able to:
Outcomes
(1) Integrate information from the relevant literatures;
(2) Coordinate the information / data collected using
qualitative methods, statistical techniques and
appropriate software; and
(3) Assess the significance and implication of research
findings, draw conclusions and policy recommendations.
(4) Demonstrate ability to seek new knowledge, skills and
manage relevant information from various sources to
manage and solve real life problems.
(5) Demonstrate aptitude to follow the ethical issues in
writing research report/ article.
Synopsis of Course This course aims to train students to conduct research on
Contents development issues and policies, and to write a quality
research paper or policy report. Students are guided by at
least one supervisor from the conception of the project
through to the preparation of the paper or report. The
research stage encompasses research questions and
literature review (analysis, synthesis and critical evaluations
of empirical and theoretical works), data collection, data
analysis and answering the research questions, and drawing
conclusions and policy recommendations.
