EIC3002 ANALYSIS OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Learning At the end of the course, the students are able to:
Outcomes
1. define the role of a development project planner and implementer;
2. review the importance of planning for projects;
3. demonstrate the use of tools needed for planning, managing and analysing
development projects; and
4. develop project reports based on case studies.
Synopsis This course begins with a discussion about the meaning of a development project
and various types of projects that are implemented by developmentalists will be
discussed.
In second part of this course, the importance of critical planning for projects will be
discussed while the third part will discuss the process of analysing projects and
conventional tools used to analyse development projects. Discussions about the
project management constitute the fourth part of the course and the importance of
including non economic consideration in project planning and analysis will be
emphasized. In this course, students are also given training to prepare project
reports based on case studies.
