Pelajar akan menyerahkan satu deraf kertas projek di mana penyelia akan memberi
maklum balas. Di akhir semester, pelajar dapat menghasilkan satu kertas projek
yang analitis.
This course provides students with the opportunity to carry out research and
produce a project paper in the area of language study or linguistics. Students
choose an appropriate topic from the aforementioned area with the advice and
consent of a supervisor. The project paper should involve both library and field
search. Students are provided with the skills to write up a comprehensive research
plan after doing some preliminary exploratory work. Students submit a draft of the
project paper and receive feedback from the supervisor. At the end of the semester,
students produce an analytical project paper for submission.
Prasyarat/ Prerequisite: Lulus minima Gred C bagi salah SATU kursus berikut:
Kaedah dalam Kajian Bahasa/Penulisan Kertas Ilmiah DAN tamat sekurang-
kurangnya 80% kursus dalam program / A pass with a minimum of Grade C for
ONE of the following courses: Methods in Language Research/Writing the Research
Paper AND completed at least 80% of the courses in the programme.

Wacana dan Penterjemahan/ Discourse and Translation

Kursus ini akan mendedahkan pelajar-pelajar kepada aspek-aspek wacana dan
teori-teorinya yang terlibat dalam proses penterjemahan. Penekanan akan diberikan
pada penggunaan teori-teori wacana dalam penterjemahan praktikal di mana
pelajar d iperlukan untuk menterjemah teks dari sumber berlainan surat khabar,
majalah, artikel internet, puisi, dan iklan. Kursus ini merangkumi tutorial dan latihan
penterjemahan.
This course will expose students to the discourse aspects and its theories involved
in the translation process. Emphasis will be given to the use of discourse theories in
practical translation where students are required to translate texts from different
sources such as newspaper reports, magazine and internet articles, poems and
advertisements. This course involves tutorials and translation practice.
