Penyemakan dan Penyuntingan / Revising and Editing

Kursus ini akan memberikan pelajar pengetahuan dan kemahiran yang diperlukan
untuk membentuk kepakaran dalam teknik penterjemahan tahap kedua iaitu
menyunting dan menyemak hasil terjemahan mengikut kriteria yang ditetapkan oleh
pelanggan. Kursus ini juga bertujuan untuk memastikan kesesuaian dan
keberkesanan hasil penterjemahan. Pelajar juga diajar membuat komentari yang
berjustifikasi tentang penyemakan yang telah dibuat. Kemahiran yang akan
diberikan termasuk menyunting dalam parameter yang ditetapkan, membuat
ringkasan dan menulis semula dalam bahasa sasaran.

This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to develop
expertise in the second-stage translation techniques of editing and revising
translations based on the clients’ requirements. This is essential in order to make
the translations more appropriate and effective. Students are also taught to make a
reasoned commentary on revisions that have been made. Skills that will be provided
include editing within given parameters; summarising and rewriting in the target
language.
