The course provides an introduction to research proposal writing and guides
students in the process of designing a research proposal for a small-scale
languagebased research. The course will help students to identify a study topic,
formulate research questions, organize a literature review, and select
appropriate research designs and methodologies. By the end of the course,
students will complete a research proposal that includes an introduction,
problem statement, significance of study, literature review, methods section and
references.

Bahasa Tamil Untuk Pengiklanan/ Tamil Language for Advertisement
3 credit/credits

Kursus ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemahiran komunikasi pujukan
dalam kalangan pelajar khususnya dalam bidang pengiklanan. Pebagai jenis
wacana bujukan di antara pengiklan dan pengguna yang disasarkan akan
dibincang. Pendekatan dan teknik yang berkaitan dengan tatabahasa,
perbendaharaan kata, wacana, rima dan retorik pengiklanan yang dikhususkan
kepada media cetak dan elektronik dianalisis. Di samping itu, pelajar-pelajar
akan dikehendaki mereka bentuk iklan contoh bagi barangan dan
perkhidmatan.

This course aims to develop persuasive communication skills among students in
the field of advertisement. Various types of persuasive discourse between
advertisers and target consumers will be discussed. The approaches and
techniques of different aspects pertaining to grammar, vocabulary, discourse,
rhyme and rhetoric of advertising with special reference to print and electronic
medias will be analysed. Apart from that students are required to produce
sample advertisements of products and services.
