INTERNATIONALISATION

                                                      The faculty has a significant number of Memorandum of
                                                      Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreement
                                                      (MoA) with international universities and research
                                                      entities. Some of the joint efforts include exchanges of
                                                      staff and students, Industrial PhD, Dual PhD and Double
                                                      Degrees Programs. Some examples are the student
                                                      mobility MoU signed between the Department of Geology
                                                      with the Institut Polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais, France
                                                      and a dual PhD signed between the Department of
                                                      Chemistry and Geology with Australian National
                                                      University, Australia. The faculty expects to run five
                                                      active MoU/MOA every year, with each department
                                                      establishing at least one MoU/MoA with the top 100
                                                      universities in the world.


              IN THIS CHAPTER                         The faculty is supporting student mobility program by
                                                      working closely with the International Student Centre
                                                      (ISC). Academic staff are also encouraged to initiate and

              INSTITUTIONS                            the Japan-Malaysia Asian Core Program and the Newton
                                                      Tunku Omar Grant area available to support exchange of
                                                      graduate students and young researchers.

              STUDENT MOBILITY
              PROGRAM
                                                      This year the faculty will employ a more regional approach
                                                      for the marketing of our programs for international
                                                      students. The emphasis will be on ASEAN countries, with
              IINTERNATIONAL                          special attention on Indochina such as Thailand, Vietnam

              STUDENT INTAKE                          and Cambodia. The aim is to achieve 10% intake of
                                                      international students every year.
