Sinopsis Kursus Elektif / Elective Courses Synopsis

Antropologi Gunaan
Applied Anthropology

Kursus ini membincangkan serta meneliti Antropologi Gunaan, tujuan dan perkembangan bidang tersebut. Perbincangan akan
ditumpukan kepada aspek teori dan metodologi asas serta konsep-konsep utama seperti organisasi sosial, politik pembangunan, Hak
Asasi, Masyarakat Pribumi, Kesihatan, golongan Orang Kurang Upaya dan sebagainya. Kursus ini juga meliputi persoalan isu dan
cabaran yang timbul akibat penglibatan antropologis. Justeru, kursus ini juga membincangkan kepelbagaian alternatif dalam
pembangunan.
This course aims to explore the discipline of Applied Anthropology, looking at the purpose and development within it. The discussion
focuses on aspects of theory and methodology, as well key concepts such as social organization, politics of development, Human Rights,
Indigenous Peoples, Healthcare, People With Disabilities, and much more. We will discuss the challenges and implications in getting
involved. This leads to thinking about the future of development and for alternatives to development.

Etnografi Bandar
Urban Ethnography

Pelajar akan diperkenalkan kepada etnografi bandar. Kursus ini dibahagikan kepada dua bahagian. Pada bahagian pertama, pelajar
akan didedahkan kepada literatur etnografi bandar dan mengupas teori dan konsep utama metod penyelidikan etnografi di bandar.
Dalam bahagian kedua, pelajar akan menjalankan kerja lapangan projek penyelidikan selama 7 minggu. Pelajar perlu menulis
sebuah laporan penyelidikan.

Students will be introduced to urban ethnography. The course is divided into two parts. In part one, students will learn about theory
and key concepts in urban ethnographic research methods. In part two, students will be required to carry out a research project in the
field for a period of 7 weeks. Students will be required to produce a research report.

Sosiologi Adab
Sociology of Manners

Kursus ini memberi tumpuan utama terhadap aspek adab dan tingkahlaku yang wajar dalam masyarakat. Perbincangan kursus ini
juga merangkumi isu-isu berkaitan dengan aspek-aspek trait personaliti dalam diri individu, masyarakat mahupun persekitaran.
Selain itu kursus ini juga akan mendalami aspek nilai adab dan etika dan kepentingannya dalam pembentukan diri manusia dan
masyarakat umum khususnya.
This course focuses on the aspects of manners and appropriate behaviour in society.

Discussion of this course will also cover issues related to aspects of personality traits in individuals, communities and the
environment. In addition, this course will also delve into the value of manners and etiquette and its importance in the formation of
human beings and the general public in particular.
