Dalam kursus ini pelajar akan mempelajari kemahiran asas teater seperti lakonan, pengarahan, dan pentas dan karya produksi.
Mereka akan menggunakan ini kemahiran untuk meningkatkan pengeluaran penuh, pada akhir semester, untuk penonton.

In this course students will learn basic theatre skills such as acting, directing, and backstage and production work. They will apply these
skills to mounting a full-length production, at the end of the semester, for an audience.

Journalistic Writing

Komponen utama kursus ini ialah perbincangan dan analisis artikel jurnalistik dari pelbagai sumber cetak dan elektronik untuk
mengenal pasti ciri utama bahasa yang khusus untuk pelaporan berita, analisis dan penulisan ciri. Ini melengkapkan secara langsung
latihan menulis di mana pelajar akan memperoleh teknik asas penulisan jurnalistik. Kursus ini memuncak dalam pengeluaran
buletin, di mana kelas berfungsi sebagai satu pasukan.

A major component of the course is discussion and analysis of journalistic articles from various print and electronic sources in order to
identify the main characteristics of the language specific to news reporting, analysis and feature writing. This complements hands-on
writing exercises through which students will acquire the basic techniques of journalistic writing. This course culminates in the
production of a newsletter, which the class works on as a team.

Africa Speaks

Kursus ini merupakan satu kajian terperinci mengenai penulis utama dan pelbagai tradisi sastera benua Afrika. Ia meliputi teks
terpilih dari genre yang berbeza. Para pelajar akan mengkaji konteks sejarah dan budaya penulisan, penerbitan, dan penerimaan
kesusasteraan Afrika. Mereka akan memberi perhatian khusus kepada bentuk dan teknik yang berbeza dengan mana penulis
menyampaikan idea-idea mereka, dan meneroka secara terperinci tema dan idea-idea ini.

The course is a detailed introduction to the major writers and diverse literary traditions of the continent. It covers select texts from
different genres and regions. Students will study the historical and cultural contexts of the writing, publication, and reception of African
literature. They will pay particular attention to the different forms and techniques with which the writers convey their ideas, and
explore in detail some of the most interesting of those composite ideas and themes.
