• Doctoral programme – at least two seminar presentations OR more as
required by the faculty
(3) A Candidature Defence session;
(4) Face to face consultation with supervisor(s) as imposed by the faculty;
and/or
(5) Participation in any faculty activities as required by the faculty

The Faculty may include other requirements for their respective postgraduate candidates. Please refer to the
faculty on how to fulfil such residential requirements.

Progress Reports

A full research candidate is required to submit a progress report online at the end
of each semester. The supervisor(s) shall evaluate the progress report and submit
the progress report to the Deputy Dean of Higher Degree or Head of Department.

A candidate whose progress is satisfactory will be recommended for continuing
of his/her candidature. The Faculty shall terminate the candidature of a
candidate whose progress is not satisfactory for three consecutive semesters. A
candidate who fails to submit his/her progress report within the stipulated
period shall be barred from registering for the following semester.

Candidature Requirements

A candidate is required to complete his/her candidature by fulfilling the
requirements as follows:

For Doctoral Degree (by Research)

(1) Doctor of Philosophy
(2) Doctor of Medicine

Requirements
Candidate is required to fulfill candidature requirements as follows before
3-Months Notice of submission:
1. Fulfil the minimum candidature duration of 4 semesters
2. Fulfil the University language requirement (Bahasa Malaysia and English)
3. Fulfil the residential requirement of 12 months
Candidate is considered has fulfilled the residential requirement if he/she
has completed requirements 4, 5, 6*, 7 and 8 and including the following:
(a) Face-to-face consultation with supervisor(s) as imposed by the
faculty; and/or
(b) Participation in any faculty activities as required by the faculty
4. Attend at least 3 credits of Research Methodology Course not later than
the second (2 ) semester of candidature

5. Present research proposal at Proposal Defence not later than the second
(2 ) semester of candidature

6. *For candidate with direct admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Fast Track),
