9. Describe scientific disciplines included in the field of Exercise Science.
10. Relate the importance of the areas in Exercise Science to physical performance.
11. Demonstrate basic exercise skills.
Synopsis of Course Contents This course provides the basic understanding of various scientific disciplines of Exercise
Science. Students will be exposed to the fundamentals of exercise. The focus of this
discipline in improving physical performance will be discussed.

Course Title SPORTS INJURY AND FIRST AID

Learning Outcomes At the end of the course, students are able to:
1. Define the terms of sports injuries.
2. Differentiate general types of injuries.
3. Adapt basic skill in first aid based on CPR theories for adult victims.
4. Describe specific types of injuries such as acute, overuse and sports injuries in
extreme heat and ways to prevent and manage it.
Synopsis of Course Contents Students will be exposed to the introduction of injuries and understand the related
principles. The types of injuries such as shock, bleeding, burns and shock will be
discussed. Issues in sports injuries such as acute, overuse, injury, heat and ways of
prevention will be discussed. CPR certification will also be offered to students.
