29. Various state of the art additions and installations will be made and featured to
make DTC a world class venue which will be the pride of the university and the
nation. The timeline of the upgrading works is on schedule, and will be projected
to be completed on time.
30. The university management will provide the latest updates and details on the
ongoing and future projects and the status of all the works and projects that are
currently in process.

32. Thirdly, student empowerment and capacity building remain critical for students that we all do our

35. I have also personally attended a few of them, particularly FESENI, Karviter, Battle
of the Bands, and many others. I have observed how the students have got the
zeal, passion, dedication, perseverance, commitment and unyielding spirit in 23
achieving their dreams.
36. The students have displayed great organizational, planning, leadership and
management skills and maturity, and they must continue to be given the trust and
space to develop their capacities.
37. I appreciate and would like to thank the Kesatuan Mahasiswa Universiti Malaya
(KMUM) for the various initiatives taken in fostering closer engagement and ties
with the university management, and for the role played all this while.
38. Representatives from KMUM have been in various important university meetings
and committee meetings, and have continued to play an important role.
39. KMUM has also been in periodical updates with me through various platforms,
regarding various student development issues and other issues regarding the
university and related developments.
40. We will continue to have close and constant engagement with KMUM and all
other registered student bodies and societies.
41. I have also met with Sekretariat Presiden Kolej UM (SPKUM) and various
issues being brought up have also been addressed and will continue to be
addressed,regarding the welfare of students in residential colleges and other
related issues on campus.
42. I will soon meet with all the registered student bodies and associations,which
number around 106 student bodies, in briefing them about the latest developments
of the university and future strategic plans, and also in listening to their voices and
giving them the space to present their views on various issues.
43. This will also include the international students’ association and related societies,
as all international students are given the right focus and remain important to me
and to all of us.
