Position: Trainee in Compounding Department

During my internship in Top Quality Glove Sdn. Bhd.
(F32), I was placed in the chemical preparation unit
which is under the Compounding Department. This
unit is in charge of preparing chemicals such as
alkaline, acid, coagulant, and damp don according to
the standard for production line. Throughout my
internship period, my industrial supervisor assigned
me with a variety of tasks allowing me to gain various
skills and knowledge.
Firstly, I was able to improve my laboratory skills. I performed titration methods and got
a chance to handle an auto titrator. Next, I also learned about occupational safety and

health (OSH) during the training period. Since I am handling a variety of chemicals, it is
crucial to know the SOPs regarding the chemicals. Besides that, I also learned how to be
professional when presenting my project results to others. Finally, through the
internship, I have enhanced my problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

My internship journey has been full of joy, tears, frustration, and much more, that
prepared me for working life and made me more mature. In these 14 weeks of
internship, I have gained various skills and experience that made me a more
knowledgeable person. Mainly it has helped my personal growth in the aspects of
communication, problem-solving skills, and time management. The proud moment of
my internship is the discovery of new findings which contributed to the quality
improvement and cost reduction in Top Glove. In addition, the professionalism and
dedication among the experts at the organization inspired me a lot. The workplace
environment made me more passionate to pursue my career in the industry and this
would not be possible without the internship module of the Bachelor of Science in
Chemistry.
