Why did you choose this programme?

I have always been interested in chemistry and wish
to pursue a career related to my passion. The

programme with the Department of Chemistry,
Universiti Malaya became my obvious choice as it is a
renowned higher learning institution in Malaysia.

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry had help me to land my first job as a scientist with
Sime Darby Plantation Technology Centre. I managed to obtain this position because of
the technical and fundamental chemistry knowledge through the comprehensive
classroom and lab-based modules. Over the years, I am able to advance to a more senior
position, leading to the current role as a manager at the Centre of Excellence with Apical

Group Ltd. based in Indonesia since 2021.

The highlight of the programme was the soft skills and competency related modules that
enabled continuous self-improvement. In addition, the international exposure with
experts and scholars from around the world through the academic collaboration had
broaden my perspective and established valuable networking for my career.
