She believes there is so much more to discover outside of the research lab or classroom! By joining
extracurricular activities, it will allow her to experience things that she would not encounter on a daily
basis, as well as meet new people and make new friends. She added that, it gives her the opportunity to
be a more well-rounded person – she gets to learn the soft skills required to communicate with people of
different backgrounds and the time management skills to handle multiple tasks. It really exposes her to
the “real” world, rather than just what she had learned in textbooks. Her ambition that she can see in five
years’ time, she hopes that she will finish her Ph.D. and be working as a researcher. Her envision in work is
to help reduce the prices of electronic gadgets, so that they’re more affordable and hence accessible to
more people. This is especially important nowadays, as more businesses and services are going online,
making these gadgets a necessity more than a luxury. She is also interested in learning more about
machine learning and artificial intelligence, and she hopes that someday she will get the opportunity to
conduct studies in that area.
