IIM3003 SHARIAH CIVIL PROCEDURE LAW

The purpose of this course is to give exposure to civil procedures that are currently in force in Shariah
Court in order to ensure justice been carried out before the court. This further ensure standard operating
procedure operating in Shariah court in order that right and responsibilities of parties are guarded.
Comparison to civil procedure in Civil court will also be carried out as both Shariah and Civil court share
similar procedures. This course discusses the introduction to shariah civil procedure, preliminary matters,
pre-trial procedures, trial, sentencing, ex parte order, enforcement of judgement and appeal procedures
to Shariah appeal Court.

Course Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students are able to:
1. Explain procedures applied in Shariah Court in civil/mal cases based on law and practices.
2. Elaborate additional information on civil procedure based on reliable sources or authorities.
3. Analyse civil cases proceedings in Shariah Court in particular civil procedural aspects.
4. Apply civil procedures in Shariah Court.
