(c) Minimum duration requirements for study
A student shall complete the minimum duration that has been
prescribed for his programme of study for the purpose of
graduation except as otherwise provided under regulation 4(2)(c)
and (d) of these Regulations.
(d) Bahasa Malaysia requirements
A student who is not a citizen shall fulfill the Bahasa Malaysia
requirements as prescribed by the University.
(2) Award of Degree
(a) A student may be awarded a degree once he has fulfilled all the
requirements of his programme of study as prescribed in
subregulation (1) above.
(b) The degree awarded is an honours degree based on the final
CGPA. For a student to qualify to be awarded a Pass with
Honours degree, he must obtain a final CGPA of not less than
2.00.
(c) A student is qualified to be awarded a degree of a Pass with
Honours (With Distinction) if he:
(i) achieves a final CGPA of 3.70 and above;
(ii) has never obtained grade F for any course during the
period of his programme of study ;
(iii) has never repeated any course where he failed and/or
improved his course grade ; and
(iv) has successfully completed his programme of study within
the minimum period or prescribed duration.
(3) Aegrotat Award
Notwithstanding the provisions of sub regulation (2) above, in a situation
where a student has completed at least two thirds of the total overall
credits required to complete his programme of study but is unable to
complete his programme of study on medical grounds or dies, he can be
considered for an Aegrotat Award. The process of award shall be
administered in accordance to Schedule C under this Regulation.
