(iv) The quorum for a meeting of a Committee of Examiners is
the Chairman and one-third of the appointed membership
of the Committee of Examiners.
(13) Other Matters Related to Examinations
(a) Examination Invigilator
Examination invigilator shall be appointed for every examination
and is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor.
(b) General instructions for examinations
Subject to the provisions of the University of Malaya (First Degree
Studies) Rules 2017, every examination conducted by the
University is subject to the general instructions for examinations
as stated in Schedule B to these Regulations.
(c) Illness during examination
A student who falls ill during an examination must report
immediately to the Chief Invigilator of the examination or to any
of the Invigilators who must make arrangements for the student
to be examined immediately by a Registered Medical Practitioner
of the University Student Health Clinic. The student is required to
submit the report and/or medical leave certificate by the
Registered Medical Practitioner to the Dean of the Faculty of his
programme of study not later than two (2) working days from the
date of his last examination paper.
(d) Examination results
(i) Results of all University examinations shall be submitted
for the approval of the Senate or to any other party duly
authorised by the Senate.
(ii) The date of the official notification is the date the results of
the examination are notified to the students by the
Examination Section through any methods and/or any
channels as may be prescribed by the University.
(e) Secrecy in the management of grading
All matters relating to the grading of examination results are
confidential and shall not be disclosed to any student or to any
other party.
