(ii) Where a student has passed the Special Examination
and/or has completed part of the course requirements
concerned, the grade obtained will be given to substitute
the grade I for the semester where the student obtained
grade I;
(iii) A student who does not take the Special Examination of
the course concerned when held and /or completes part
of the course requirements within the required period,
grade I for the course concerned shall be amended to the
actual grade based on the performance of the student for
other components of the course concerned; and
(iv) A student is not allowed to repeat the course concerned
under any circumstances until the grade I is dropped.
(d) The Committee of Examiners cannot under any circumstances
take into consideration any appeal or any written application
submitted by a student after the Committee of Examiners has
made its decision.
(e) Notwithstanding anything stated in paragraph (d) above, any
written appeal can only be considered for the purpose of
reviewing the decision made by the Committee of Examiners
regarding the termination of his programme of the study or
graduation of the student.
(8) Special Examination
(a) Other than a case of Special Examinations held for the purpose
of replacing grade I as approved by the Committee of Examiners,
a Special Examination for other purposes or for unusual
circumstances may only be held subject to the approval by the
Senate.
(b) For the purpose of paragraph (a) above, Special Examination
refers to-
(i) any final examination that is held after the original
examination date as fixed in the Examination Time Table;
and/or
(ii) any other form of suitable assessment that is given to a
student with physical disabilities and/or who is unable to
take an examination upon the recommendation of the
Faculty that replaces the prescribed examination.
(c) In the case of an emergency, the Vice-Chancellor after
considering the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty
