(c) Courses given grade I and P shall not be given credit until the
final grade for the course is obtained in the semester concerned.
(d) Course grade for a student subject to disciplinary action
Where a student has been found guilty and have a sentence
imposed under rule 6 and rules 8(a) to (d) of the University of
Malaya (Discipline of Students) Rules 1999, a zero mark with
grade F will be given for the course concerned as determined by
the Senate.
(e) Minimum requirement for academic performance
A student has to obtain a minimum GPA and CGPA of not less
than 2.00 for every semester until the completion of his studies.
(f) Academic Probationary Period and Caution
A student who obtains a GPA of below 2.00 in any semester shall
be given the result Probation for the semester concerned and be
placed under an Academic Probationary Period in the subsequent
semester when he is registered. This period shall remain until the
student attains a GPA of 2.00. The Dean or Deputy Dean of the
Faculty of the programme of study of the student shall caution the
student concerned with regard to his probationary status.
(g) Failed and terminated from a programme of study
(i) A student can be terminated from a programme of study if
he:
(A) is placed under an Academic Probationary Period
and subsequently obtains a GPA of 1.30 or less for
two consecutive semesters;
(B) obtains a GPA lower than 2.00 for four consecutive
semesters;
(C) obtains grade F three times or more for the same
course;
(D) obtains a CGPA of less than 1.00 for two
consecutive semesters; or
