6. APPEALS
(1) Appeal Against Examination Results
(a) A student who is not satisfied with the results of the examination
including the continuous assessment component and/or the final
examinations of a course may appeal under paragraph (b) below
for the results to be reviewed. The appeal must be made within
two weeks from the date of the official notification of the
examination results.
(b) An appeal must be made to the Dean of the Faculty of the
programme of study using the prescribed form accompanied by
the original receipt of payment prescribed for the said appeal.
(c) The appeal form shall not be considered by the office of the Dean
of the Faculty concerned if:
(i) it is submitted after the period mentioned in paragraph (a)
above;
(ii) the appeal form is incomplete; and/or
(iii) it is not submitted together with the original receipt of
payment.
(d) When an appeal is received, the Dean of the Faculty shall appoint
a second examiner for the course concerned. The original
examiner and the second examiner appointed shall review the
answer script and/or any assessment component for the course
concerned and report the findings of the review to the Faculty
Appeals Committee.
(e) The Faculty Appeals Committee shall decide whether the marks
and/or grade of the student be retained or amended. The original
examiner and the second examiner may attend the meeting of the
Faculty Appeals Committee if required.
(f) The Faculty Appeals Committee shall recommend any
amendments to the marks and/or grades to the Committee of
Examiners for its approval.
(2) Appeal to Extend Duration of Study
(a) A student who is in the final two semesters of the maximum
duration of his programme of study but has yet to complete the
graduation requirements of the programme concerned, may
submit an appeal for an extension of his duration of study to the
Dean of the Faculty of his programme of study.
