               SYLLABUS SUMMARY

               BSGF6101 ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

               4 Credits   Knowledge  based  and  understanding  the  theories  of  organizational  behaviour  and  business  management.
                           Topics  cover  in  the  course  includes  management  theory  and  concept,  decision-making,  human  resource
                           management, leadership, ethic, business and performance assessment

                           At the end of this course student are able to:
                           1. Develop teamwork skills and professionalism through effective communication
                           2. Apply theoretical knowledge in an effective organisational management.
                           3. Manage issues and problems in an organisation through practical and convincing approach.

               BSGF6102 SERVICE PROCUREMENT & CONTRACT PROVISION IN FACILITIES & MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT

               4 Credits   Introduction to the standard methods of quantification and specification (SMM 2&7). Application of measurement
                           forms  and  measurement  collection  methods  and  description  design.  Quantification  for  renovation  works,
                           refurbishment, internal and external buildings and estimation.

                           Students will be able to:
                           1. Evaluate the standard of measurement methods in maintenance works
                           2. Identify the type, process, procedure, procurement and liability of contract
                           3. Prepare job specification and cost estimation for building measurement and maintenance

               BSGF6103 ADVANCED BUILDING SERVICES AND MAINTENANCE

               4 Credits   It involves the specification, design, installation and management of all the engineering services associated with
                           the  built  environment.  Consist  of  sound  knowledge  of  engineering  principles  and  the  ability  to  apply  the
                           knowledge  within  the  building  services  and  maintenance  industry.  It  also  covers  complexity  of  engineering
                           services in various types of buildings and the significance of energy conservation and emissions control. In
                           overall, the necessity to provide an internal environment that balances the comfort needs of the occupants with
                           the functional requirements of the building will be distinguished.

                           At the end of this course, students are able to:
                           1. Discuss procedures for operation and maintenance of various types of building services
                           2. Identify and analyse issues and challenges of building services and maintenance
                           3. Develop technical skills and expertise across the related multi-disciplinary subjects

               BSGF6104 TOTAL ASSET AND FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

               4 Credits   This  module  examines  the  strategic  and  operational  facilities  management.  Strategic  facilities  management
                           include  the  introduction  of  management  discipline  to  the  facilities  management.  Operational  facilities
                           management looks at external constraints on corporate priorities which include the theoretical issues influencing
                           why an organisation locates where it does and take an overview of four of the major facility operational areas
                           that are amenable to management: Security, Cleaning, Energy, and Repairs & Maintenance, which consume
                           major portion of facilities costs.

                           At the end of this course, students are able to:
                           1. Understand the strategic and operational facilities management.
                           2. Apply appropriate management theory to fulfil the core organisational objectives.
                           3. Adapt appropriate maintenance system in achieving value added in operational maintenance management
