Memahami Gelombang Korea / Understanding Korean Wave

Kursus ini memberi penekanan kepada pemahaman tentang kesan daripada
kebudayaan kontemporari Korea ke arah Gelombang Korea secara global. Pada
awalnya, asal usul dan proses Gelombang Korea akan dikaji, seterusnya unsur-
unsur yang berjaya, iaitu muzik popular korea (K-pop), drama Korea (K-drama),
wayang Korea, masakan Korea, teknologi canggih Korea dan lain-lain akan dikaji
agar memberi pemahaman yang lebih luas terhadap Gelombang Korea. Selain itu,
interaksi Gelombang Korea dan budaya masyarakat dunia juga akan diberi
perhatian. Akhir sekali, interaksi antara Gelombang Korea dan budaya Malaysia
akan dianalisis secara kritis malah strategi interaksi antara budaya Malaysia dan
budaya masyarakat dunia juga akan dikaji.

This course emphasizes on the understanding of the effect of the Contemporary
Korean Culture towards the Korean Wave globally. Firstly the origin and process of
Korean Wave will be examined, then the successful cases, which are the Korean
Popular Music (K-pop), Korean Dramas (K-dramas), Korean Movies, Korean
Cuisine, Korean High Technology etc will be studied in order to have a broader
understanding of the Korean Wave. Besides, the interaction of Korean Wave and
world public culture will be looked into too. Last but not least the interaction
between Korean Wave and Malaysian culture will be critically analyzed and the
strategy of interaction between Malaysian culture and world public culture will be
