Learning Outcomes At the end of the course, students are able to:
1. Explain the importance of planning, managing and maintaining sports facilities and
equipment.
2. Identify problems and challenges in managing sports facilities and equipment.
3. Apply the knowledge by designing management guidelines and procedures for
selected facilities.
Synopsis of Course Contents The course begins with the history of sports facilities and the development of modern
Sports facilities in the country. This is followed by the understanding of the planning,
development dimension, space and provisions for various sports facility users. The role of
managers and how to manage and implement sports programmes will also be taught. This
course will end by looking at basic maintenance of sports facilities like various playing
surfaces and pools.
