Winner of NIIDR 2022 in conjunction with
Media and Information literacy seminar
The Faculty of Information Management, UiTM in By Dr. Yanti Idaya Aspura
collaboration with the National Library of Malaysia (PNM)
have held the National Innovation, Invention, Design and
Research Competition (NIIDR 2022) in conjunction with
the 2022 National Media and Information Literacy Seminar
on 27 Sept 2022 at the UiTM Hotel, Shah Alam.
A silver and two bronze medals were awarded to the
Department of Library and Information Science, FASS UM
during the event, under the Higher Education (Students)
category.
1. SILVER: An event-based ontology model for the content
knowledge of historical Malay manuscripts - Zahila Mohd Dr Zahila Haji Mohd Nor winning a silver medal

2. BRONZE: Developing a Manual to Create Tactile Map for
Blind and Visually Impaired Users of MAB Library -
Manimala Thavandran & Samsul Farid Samsuddin.
3. BRONZE: Lembah Bujang Archaeology Digital Library
(LBADL) - Asma Nadia Zanol Rashid & Abirami Ganesan &
Ali Fauzi.
The department and faculty would like to congratulate the
students and the supervisors for their achievements. Miss Abirami Ganesan won a bronze medal in the competition

On September 14 2022, Pusat Sejarah Rakyat (The
People's History Center) in collaboration with the
Department of History, FASS and Naratif Malaysia
organized a Public Lecture delivered by Professor Emeritus
Dato' Dr Abdul Rahman Embong from the National
University of Malaysia. The FASS Dean, Professor Datuk Dr
Danny Wong started the event with the words of welcome.
The event was chaired by Dr Mohamed Azwan Abdul
Rahman, also from the National University of Malaysia.
