organize a talk by Tan Sri
Johan Jaaffar on the media
industry in Malaysia on 13th
December, 2022. This was
the first of the hybrid lecture On 18 and 19 November, the Department of International
series titled “Krisis Media: Di Belakang Duri, di Depan Api” and Strategic Studies co-organized an International Asian

postgraduate, undergraduate and high school students
who presented their research online on issues relating to
political science, economics, international relations,
sociology, history, anthropology, humanities, cultural
studies as well as humanities in Asia.
Among the winners was Aqmal Afiq bin Shamsul Bahri
from Universiti Malaya, who won the best research
presentation prize. Associate Professor Dr Jimmyn Parc
from the Department of East Asian Studies presented his
keynote speech on “The Need for a Strategic Partnership
in the Post-Pandemic Era” while Dr Sheila Devi Michael
from the Department of International and Strategic Studies
moderated the session.
The ASOC-E Conference achieved its objective by
providing a platform for the researchers and students
affiliated with the Asian universities and those who aspire
to pursue Asian Studies and harmonization in Asia.
Additionally, the conference managed to gather scholars
from the organising committee to conduct seminars on
