(iii)   obtain the following results in any of the following English
                                            proficiency examinations  that are listed below:

                                            (A)    a  score  of  500  (PBT),  173  (CBT)  or  60  (IBT)  in
                                                   TOEFL;

                                            (B)    Band 5.0 and above for IELTS (Academic); or

                                            (C)    a score in accordance to the respective Malaysian
                                                   Qualifications Agency programme standards, if the
                                                   requirement is higher than (A) and (B).

                              (c)    Notwithstanding any of the conditions stated under paragraph (a)
                                     and (b) above, under certain circumstances, the admission of a
                                     student  is  subject  to  the  decision  of  Senate  upon
                                     recommendation of the Committee for the Admission Selection of
                                     the Faculty concerned.

                       (2)    Other Requirements

                              (a)    Subject to the requirement for the fulfillment of the University’s
                                     general requirements as provided under subregulation (1) above,
                                     a  candidate  is  also  required  to  fulfill  the  special  admission
                                     requirements  of  the  programme  of  study  as  prescribed  by  the
                                     Senate from time to time.

                              (b)    A candidate shall confirm the acceptance of offer within the period
                                     stated  by  the  University.  The  validity  period  of  an  offer  of
                                     admission is as stated in the Terms and Conditions of Admission.
                                     Upon  expiry  of  the  said  period,  the  offer  shall  lapse  if  the
                                     candidate fails to report himself.

                       (3)    Deferment in Registration of Programme of Study for New Students

                              (a)    Deferment of registration for a programme of study can only be
                                     considered for medical reasons or for any other reason which is
                                     acceptable to the University at its discretion.

                              (b)    Any application to defer the registration of a programme of study
                                     must  be  made  by  the  candidate  in  writing  to  the  Deputy  Vice
                                     Chancellor  concerned  accompanied  with  a  medical  report  or
                                     other supporting documents.

                              (c)    Deferment  of  registration  for  a  programme  of  study  can  be
                                     allowed for a period of not less than one semester and not more
                                     than  two  semesters during  the  course  of  study.  This period  of
                                     deferment shall not be computed in the duration of study.
