(c) Notwithstanding anything stated in paragraph (b) above, the
University reserves its right to determine the period of registration
concerned.
(d) Registration for any course must be completed by the second
lecture week of the Normal Semester and by the first lecture week
of the Special Semester.
(e) A student who does not register within the period prescribed for
the semester concerned shall be recorded as “Not Registered”. If
the student fails to respond by Friday on the seventh lecture
week, his student status shall be recorded as “Lapsed” and his
studies can be terminated.
(f) A student who is terminated pursuant to paragraph (e) above can
appeal in accordance to regulation 6(3)(a). A student who is
successful in his appeal will be recorded as Lapsed Active in the
semester concerned and must register himself in the subsequent
semester.
Failure by a student to complete his course registration within the
prescribed period for the subsequent semester will result in his
status of study being terminated.
(g) Registration for any course is strictly not allowed under the
following circumstances:
(i) registration after the second lecture week in the Normal
Semester and the first lecture week in the Special
Semester.
(ii) registration which is backdated.
(iii) registration after the examination week has commenced.
(iv) simultaneous registration for courses with a pre-requisite.
(h) Registration for a course with a pre-requisite is only allowed after
the student has passed the prescribed pre-requisite course and
obtained at least a grade C.
(i) Registration for a co-curricular course is allowed after a student
has undergone at least one Normal Semester of his programme
of study.
