Target Market

               The UMGSB PhD programme is  designed for the  individuals who want  to focus  their
               research  on  an  area  of  interest  that  prepares  them  for  careers  as  researchers,
               teachers  and  scholars.  Hence,  individuals  who  are  interested  in  taking  advanced
               courses  and  conducting  academic  research  in  specific  field  may  apply  and  get
               enrolled in this PhD programme.

               Programme Structure

               Students  are  required to  take  CVX8001  Research  Method  course, one  (1)  elective
               course and submit a thesis.

               The programme offers weekdays classes with the emphasis on quality teaching and
               student participation. The minimum and maximum periods of candidature are 6 and
               12 semesters respectively. It should be noted that any withdrawal from the semester(s)
               by candidate will not be excluded from the duration of the programme.

               Courses  are  divided  into  three  (3)  categories:  core  courses,  elective  courses  and
               dissertation.  The  design  of  the  courses  and  components  allow  the  students  to
               maximise  their  learning  and  develop  the  skills  that  are  essential  for  their  career
               development. Students are required to take a total of 81 credits as follows:

               Core Course (3 Credits)

               Core  course  is  designed  to  expose  the  students  to  the  fundamentals  of  research
               methodology. The course are as follows:

               Elective Courses (3 Credits)

               Students  are  required  to  take  ONE  (1)  elective  course  out  of  the  FIVE  (5)  elective
               courses, which makes up 3 credits. The following is the list of elective courses:
