                Learning Outcomes         At the end of the course, students are able to:
                                          1.   Plan a balanced diet, and formulate diets for athletes.
                                          2.   Explain  the  biochemical  processes,  digestion,  assimilation  and  the  role  of
                                              macronutrients and micronutrients.
                                          3.   Describe the metabolic pathways involved in energy metabolism.
                Synopsis of Course Contents   The overall goal of this course is to gain basic knowledge of nutrition and metabolism, and
                                          as a platform for metabolism studies of Sports Science. Students will be able to explain
                                          the  flow  of  nutrients  and  dietary  energy  production  not  only  for  energy  and  sports
                                          performance training, but also for optimal health. Chemical characteristics and the role of
                                          both macro and micronutrients will be described in terms of a balanced diet. This course
                                          also provides a good basis of understanding for further modules of Sports Science studies
                                          and special nutritional needs for athletes, including allowed and prohibited substances.

                Learning Outcomes         At the end of the course, students are able to:
                                          1.   Apply basic knowledge of psychology in Sports Psychology.
                                          2.   Relate theories of Sports Psychology into actual sports training situations.
                                          3.   Explain the concepts of Sports Psychology in Sports performance.

                Synopsis of Course Contents   This course will equip students with appropriate skills in Sports Psychology. Psychological
                                          factors  that  affect  sports  performance  and  participation  will  be  considered.  Variables
                                          affecting motivation, stress and anxiety will be discussed. This course will also cover the
                                          psychological techniques to improve performance.
