Having conversations with the older adults make me feel humble
because as far as I have lived, there will be more trials and tests that I
have not encountered but yet have not been counting my blessings.
Surely, older people have definitely gone through a lot of trials and
tribulations in their life along the way as compared to me. After hearing
their life stories, it has somewhat rebuilt my spirit and made me believe
that everyone has their own tests made for them and no one is destined
for their life to end in failure because every trial will surely end in
success. Thus, we just need to believe in our life process and never
                                   underestimate ourselves.
Help others & others will help
                    you.

Everyone definitely has their own life test. We have to face challenges as we grow up but that is life. Believe
me, one day there will definitely be an unexpected success. We just have to trust the process.

              Lee Yi Mao, Year 2
After having two interview sessions with Dr. Arul, I was more than
grateful that our interviewee is a very open-minded person and he was
willing to tell us his story unreservedly. I felt sorry when he slowly
revealed an unexpected part of his life story where he struggled to get
through the hardship. However, after chatting with Dr Arul, he taught
me that we are certainly not anticipating anything unfortunate to
happen to ourselves, yet sometimes we don’t have a choice. Accept it
and focus on how to conquer it, instead of questioning “why”
endlessly. I felt relieved and glad knowing that he has successfully
gone through his hard times. Meanwhile, his strong-willed spirit has
Wherever you go, go with your left a strong impact on me.
                   heart.

The most significant element needed when communicating with older adults is our respect towards them. I
always believe that how the other people respond to you depends on what attitude you show.
