Interviewers of Puan Roslah Sheikh Salim

                  Year 1
My interviewee - Puan Roslah is a very outgoing and bubbly woman. Her
stories never failed to inspire me to be kind-hearted. The interview
session was more like a casual tea- time talk with Puan Roslah. She made
me realise that not every older adult is strict and reserved. Ultimately, I
overcame my self-consciousness while talking to older adults.

rain and used it to grow.

There is a Chinese saying that goes " An elder at home, reminiscent of treasure. " Never be afraid to initiate
interactions with their older relatives or other older adults because they are usually wiser and willing to
share their useful experiences that they treasure the most. There are so many things to learn from them
such as patience, soft-spokenness and respect. We, especially young dental students, must practice good
communication skills in order to communicate with our older patients more effectively in the future and try
our best to help them to put beautiful smiles on their faces.

A single conversation with a wise man is better than years of study.
That’s what I felt after my interview session with Puan Roslah. She
taught us a lot of important things that we can’t get in the class. Older
generations have decades of experience to share with younger
generations. So why do we need to spend years slowly gaining
experience — and making the same mistakes, when we can draw on the
wisdom of those who've already been down the same road? So after the
interview, I would appreciate having another conversation with another
older person and to listen attentively to their unique insights towards
certain topics and their life philosophy.
Shoot for the moon. Even if
you miss it you will land
               among the stars.

George S. Patton once said that If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking. Today whatever we
have in the name of science, technology and progress are the result of the efforts of the people who tried to
think differently from others. So my hope and advice to younger generations is to think differently from
others. This would help us to find solutions to certain problems easier than others. It also helps us to avoid the
mistake being made by our predecessor. What’s more, we are also more capable of adapting to the changes in
              our surroundings.
