    Without  Borders  was  held  in  collaboration  with  IMAN  Deputy Director Research and Internationalisation,
    Research,  Sasakawa  Peace  Foundation,  the  British  High             Asia Europe Institute cum
    Commission,  the  Universiti  Malaya  represented  by  Asia  Lecturer, Dept of International & Strategic Studies
    Europe Institute (AEI), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
    and  Angkatan  Belia  Islam  Malaysia  (ABIM).  Distinguished
    Professor Datuk Dr Rajah Rasiah, the Executive Director of
    AEI, officiated the conference.


    The  objective  of  the  conference  is  to  bring  awareness  to
    the  conflict  in  the  Southeast  Asian  region  to  Malaysia,
    understand each other and find best practices from each  society groups, legislative council members, legal experts,
    other  in  dealing  with  the  conflict  and  advocate  for  students and think tanks such as ASEAN Institute for Peace
    sustainable, inclusive solutions.                        and Reconciliation and Geutanyoe Foundation.


    The  conference  was  held  on  March  14-15  at  the  AEI  The topics discussed include the conflict in Myanmar, the
    auditorium  with  the  participation  of  senior  government  refugee  problem  in  Sabah,  and  the  conflict  in  Southern
    officials, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime  Thailand  and  the  Southern  Philippines.  The  discussion  is
    Minister's  Department,  the  Ministry  of  Education  and  not  limited  to  traditional  security  but  includes  human
    Foreign Missions, such as the British High Commissioner,  security,  in  line  with  the  Sustainable  Development  Goals
    the  Croatian  Ambassador,  and  the  First  Secretary  of  (SDGs). This conference has also received media coverage
    Namibia.  In  addition,  the  conference  also  witnessed  the  from home and abroad. Although the conference is over,
    participation of international and local academics, civil   efforts to produce a publication are underway.

                                          Literature 2023


    Recently, the Department of Indian Studies of the Faculty              By Dr Silllalee S.Kandasamy
    of   Art   and   Social   Science,   Universiti   Malaya
      collaborated  with  the  OMS  Foundation,  National  Land
    Finance  Co-operation,  and  the  Malaysian  Tamil  Culture
    Association  to  launch  the  International  Conference  on
    Auvaiyar Tamil Literature 2023, which was held from 25th
    to  26th  February  2022.  This  conference  was  held  at  the
    UM Chancellor Building.


    The  theme  of  the  conference  is  to  popularise  the  Tamil
    literature  of  Auvaiyar.  Auvaiyar  was  a  popular  Tamil  poet
    living in the Sangam era which dates back 2300 years ago.
    She  has  contributed  various  works  to  Tamil  literature,
    especially for children’s literature.
