Visit of Research Institute for Languages and

        Cultures of Asia (RILCA), Mahidol University


    A  delegation  from  the  Research  Institute  for  Languages
    and  Cultures  of  Asia  (RILCA),  Mahidol  University,  visited
    the Faculty on 8 February 2023. The delegation was led by
    the  Institute’s  Director,  Associate  Professor  Dr  Morakot
    Meyer,  Deputy  Director  Assoc  Prof  Dr  Watcharapol
    Wiboolyasarin and Asst Prof Dr Sumittra Suraratdecha.


    The delegation was received by the Dean, Professor Wong
    and the team of Faculty leadership. A wide range of items
    were  discussed  including  the  idea  of  promoting  joint-
    research,  exchange  of  students,  and  collaboration  for
    workshops  and  seminars.  Among  topics  discussed  are
    diaspora  and  transnational  migration,  ageing  society  and
    intergenerational gap, gender equality, and media.

             Dean’s List Award Semester II 2021/2022


    On the 16th of March 2023, the Faculty of Arts and Social                By Tessa Humbising Eric
    Sciences  conducted  the  highly  anticipated  semestrial              Director, Dean’s List Award
    Dean’s  List  Award  Ceremony  to  celebrate  esteemed    act as a motivator for each and every student of the Faculty
    students  who  exemplified  the  spirit  of  academic     of Arts and Social Sciences to strive harder in their future
    excellency. The award ceremony is conducted twice every   endeavours to achieve the Dean's List Award.
    year  as  organised  and  handled  by  the  members  of  the
    Global   Network   Club    in   cooperation   with   the
    administration of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
    The ceremony served as a platform to commemorate and
    congratulate students under the faculty who were able to
    achieve  a  Grade  Point  Average  (GPA)  of  3.70  and  above
    with a minimum of 15 credit hours from the past semester.


    This  time  around,  the  faculty  recognized  the  exceptional
    academic accomplishments of 587 outstanding students.
    Out  of  these  students,  295  recipients  attended  the
    ceremony held at Dewan Kuliah F to receive their award in
    person. As the students received certificates and honours
    in   recognition   of   their   exceptional   academic
    accomplishments,  the  atmosphere  was  brimming  with    The Department of International and Strategic Studies’ Thaha Albana

    happiness and celebration.

    For  this  edition  of  the  Dean’s  List  Award  ceremony,  the
    theme chosen was ‘Diamonds of the Season’. A diamond is
    a  piece  of  coal  under  pressure,  thus  if  you  are  feeling
    pressured  today,  you  are  about  to  shine.  The  theme
    signifies  the  hardships  and  sacrifices  students  endure
    throughout  their  duration  of  study  in  order  to  secure
    various  academic  achievements.  In  conjunction  with
    International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2023, the
    ceremony  also  celebrated  the  special  day.  As  such,  the
    Dean's List Award ceremony committee members proudly
    wore a purple ribbon to signify their support for inclusivity
