35. This is possible only in a robust, well-functioned, fully supported and
comprehensively galvanised spirit of collaboration and standing together in
providing this platform of hope for the people in the form of equal, non-binding,
quality and comprehensive access and rights to education for the global
community across all ranges.
36. The role, significance and standing of the education sector have never been more
monumental, inspiring and crucial than in times like this. Challenges have been
met, stood up to and overcome since the inception of humanity and this makes
no exception, for the spirit and will of the people and the education community
will always prevail. With higher education being at the forefront of tomorrow’s
progress, humanity will ensure that its unyielding spirit, will and perseverance will
always prevail, for the stake of the future has never been greater.
37. The direction the future holds for the world and its inhabitants has been and
will always be shaped by the collective will and strength of the people with the
vision for the greater good, with alliances forged, friendships built, values shared,
causes connected and the future envisioned.
38. The belief in the wisdom and the judgment of the people in differentiating the right
from wrong and the true moral obligations as human beings perpetuate the drive
in empowering the society with knowledge, wisdom, motivation and sense of
belonging towards inculcating positive values that bring people togethertowards
the rightful path of respect, tolerance, acceptance and compassion.
39. The right tools in the right environment being delivered and implemented upon
92 by the government and the role of strong political will and initiative in setting the
right long term priorities for the betterment of the society will fortify the spirit of
humanism, a call that will transcend barriers and reinject the common cause of
values and compassion in humanity.
40. Universiti Malaya will continue to shoulder the pride of the nation with the greatest
honour, to serve and sacrifice for the nation with dignity and pride, and to be the
beacon of hope for the country and its people, and for the world and humanity,
with humility, strength and compassion.
