                                     Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and Salam Sejahtera

                                     1. This Malaysia Day reflection charts a new dawn of rejuvenation in the spirit of
advancement, sacrifice, and honour to the country, with our foremost role as the
flagbearer of the country’s education and national development.
                                     2. Education and social justice remain the pillars of the future of our new generations,
and efforts to enhance inclusivity and the transformative power of knowledge,
have been the main essence of propelling social mobility and in advancing key
growth areas of the future, including energy transition, digital governance, green
                                         economy and technological driven development.
                                     3. All these have already been long embedded in our focus areas, in ensuring that
as the nation’s leading institution, the synergy of expertise and galvanisation of
human capital strength remain at the forefront in producing not only the needed
talents, but the impact of our research and academic outcome that can shape the
destiny of the country in decades to come.
88 4. The actions and efforts that we put in today form the solid foundation for
Malaysia’s future. The vision of a prosperous, united, and a modern Malaysia
rooted in values, and spiritual and physical advancement, is on our hands.
                                     5. From economic empowerment to fiscal responsibility, anti-corruption measures,
and equitable wealth distribution, and from scientific advancement to ensuring
resilient supply chain and critical minerals’ development, all fields and areas are
within our efforts to contribute to a new chapter of a university’s role in nation-
                                         building and character development.
                                     6. Research and academic contribution in high-growth sectors such as technology,
manufacturing, and renewable energy align with strategic initiatives like the New
Industrial Master Plan 2030, National Semiconductor Strategy and the energy and
                                         digital transformation agenda.
                                     7. Both the hardware output and the software parallel contributive factor of producing
graduates and human capital to empower these new future driven initiatives are
within our national obligations to fulfill, and this must be carried on with continuous
                                         momentum, dignity and honour.
                                     8. The shift toward the digital economy, with initiatives like the Malaysia Digital
Economy Blueprint accelerating the growth of e-commerce, fintech, and artificial
intelligence industries, has been one of the examples where the strength of both
the academia and the industry remain ever more pertinent than ever.
                                     9. The roles of universities also fuelled the empowerment of Small and medium-
sized enterprises (SMEs), the backbone of Malaysia’s economy, and shaped
infrastructure modernisation, channeling resources into transportation, energy,
                                         and digital connectivity.
                                     10. Investments in green infrastructure, such as solar farms and energy-efficient
public buildings, that have underscored the nation’s commitment to sustainable
growth, will need the strategic academia-industry synergy in empowering this new
drive of the next phase of the country’s growth, and this must be continuously
