The presence of students in various places throughout Malaysia is a big challenge that is
has to be addressed. Networks, equipment, facilities as well as financial capabilities of
the students challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic have to be looked into so as to
ensure that learning is unaffected. Lecturers need to complete their programs’ syllabus
and adapt to the new norms of online learning and teaching. This period is a challenge
for the business and employment sector which also has an impact on the ability of the
students’ families to provide equipment, subscribe to data plan and much more.

Importance of Self Management
Self-management is very important for a student whose has a career, family and
education. CIDOS requires PKS students to manage their time wisely for their personal
affairs and lessons but also not to ignore e-learning. Good self-management will ensure
that the student will excell in their learning. The commitment and seriousness of the
students will be able to overcome the obstacles faced. This is supported by a study by
Chea (2015) that stated that a high commitment is required from students in
implementing e learning. According to Kasim and Ahmad (2010), the concept of
learning is that individuals are responsible for their own learning and can also help other
students.

Increased Cost of Learning Materials
An increase in the cost of producing course materials for e-learning will affect the
survival of e-learning education providers (De langen, 2018). He also noted that learning
materials require costs to implement and it is the responsibility of the organization to
raise funds. E-learning education providers need to think about ways to raise funds to
enable them to produce quality materials. Therefore, planning and managing expenses
for producing e-learning materials should be taken into consideration.

SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Updating Learning Material
Learning data storage should be updated from time to time. A handful of lecturers still
store old data on their respective platforms. This causes the dumping of improper
platforms to the system. Apart from that, the data update process should be conducted to
avoid problems that may cause system failure. The efficiency of CIDOS will enable the
learning process to be carried out effectively.

Hardware Server
Upgrading the server is an issue that should be addressed particularly by the PKS and
JPPKK. Outdated servers will affect the smoothness of the CIDOS and require additional
