combination of technology and the creative expertise of educators will be able to produce
the best learning materials. (Hedberg et al. (2018) stated that the integration of
appropriate technology and pedagogy in designing online learning environment and
instructors’ instantaneous presence and facilitation throughout the course can foster
interaction with other learners and the content.

Active involvement of students and educators will make e-learning successful. E-
learning will not be perfect if it is one sided. According to Ng (2014) the teacher is the
designer of the learning and the student is the active participant in the process of learning.
This is needed to bridge the gap between an orthodox learning in traditional classes and
progresses to dynamic learning through a myriad of tools and avenues. In addition, Yeop
et al. (2016) stated that the learning environment inherent in the technology integration
process in live learning will produce a mixed learning environment. The intended mixing
is between face-to-face learning (teacher and student) and online learning or using
technology as a key medium of learning. The positive acceptance of the community
towards e-learning gives the impression that innovation in education is important to
attract students. The importance of students and educators is crucial in ensuring e-
learning achieves its objectives. However, there are less interactions among students and
educators. Students are still expecting the presence of educators while educators are
thinking otherwise. Dzakiria, (2012) mentioned that open distance learning requires all
parties such as universities, lecturers and students to plan and re-evaluate learning
               involving new technologies

Social media has also become part of the learning platform. Social media such as
Facebook, Wechat, Youtube and others also allow sharing of learning materials such as
video and discussion notes. According to Serrano et al. (2015), social media such as
Facebook is also a new facilitator which can help students to share or participate in
learning sessions. A large number of students today are Facebook users and they find it
to be an interactive platform that can encourage them to post or participate. However, in
the study by Al-Mashaqbeh (2016), the findings indicate that the use of Facebook as a
learning tool will have security issues, limited time to perform activities or even face
network problems.. However, the benefits that can be gained through social media such
should be utilized because of its existing functions such as sharing of teaching materials,
               learning and direct discussions.

Openness in education today also implies that educators face various levels of student
skills, especially in relation to the latest technology. This complexity may be found not
only in senior citizen but also the younger generation. Based on the study by Latifah et
