al. (2009), students today are good at technology related skills but they find it difficult
to identify the right source of information such as getting the right website to make a
digital presentation. Faizatul Hafilah and Nor Syahilia (2016) argued that the internet's
ownership is a barrier to this noble effort because the average student said that they have
no computer and no access to the internet. Although there are a few students who are
less skilled in using mixed learning, the efforts and interests shown to learn the method
are very encouraging. The desire to learn is the key to help students succeed because
skills and technologies can be learned.
Issues and challenges of open education providers are mainly due to the increased cost
of producing course materials for learning. According to De langen (2018), every
learning and teaching activity requires financial resources to implement it. Encouraging
the involvement of those with financial resources through education and manpower
training campaigns is an ongoing effort. E-learning providers need to have financial
planning and content development to ensure that the e-learning programs offered are
appealling to the public and to ensure the e-learning program is not wasted. Hence,
management and program planning is very important. According to Wahab, Othman and
Warris (2016), there is a need to have good policies and policies to promote blended
learning as an effective, comfortable and economical learning method that can help
increase the demand for admission from prospective students
PKS – LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
E-learning nowadays is a complement and important element to support the process of
learning and teaching. Thus, the Malaysian Polytechnic has developed its own learning
management system (LMS) platform known as the Curriculum Information Document
Online System (CIDOS) to improve the learning and teaching system using ICT for all
polytechnics in Malaysia. The implementation of CIDOS in all polytechnics began in
2011 based on the flipped classroom concept which is a combination of face-to-face and
online methods. Each polytechnic appointed coordinators who are responsible for
managing and mobilizing e-learning in their respective polytechnics. All PKS lecturers
and students were registered and have their own individual accounts to access the system
for notes, quizzes, submission of coursework, forums and others. The CIDOS
polytechnic e-learning server is centralized and managed by the Department of
Polytechnic Education and Community Colleges or Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik dan
Kolej Komuniti (JPPKK) in Putrajaya.
The ICT development has made e-learning a must-have platform to improve the
country's educational system. The main purpose of the development of CIDOS is to
diversify the learning methods that have been based on traditional methods. CIDOS is
