                                     43.  The new version of SAPT will be the pioneer and trendsetter of academic excellence
                                         and nation building for the country.UM as the oldest and premier academic
                                         and education institution in the country must take the lead in transforming and
                                         reforming the standard and reputation of the academic and research excellence
                                         in the country.
                                     44.  The  importance  of  SAPT  as  the  highest  parameter  for  excellence  not  only  for
                                         the university but for the ripple impact for the nation’s future direction cannot be
                                         overstated, and through our collective effort, we must ensure that the SAPT and
                                         our academic standards will be the main contributing factor to our future success
                                         and the future of our country.
                                     45.  The SAPT has been presented to the Board and we are happy to see that the
                                         SAPT will be implemented effectively and officially on 1 August 2024, and the
                                         dawn of a new era of excellence and highest standards will be upon us.
                                     46.  Apart from the SAPT, Skim UM and KUPD, I want to give two vital updates
                                         with regards to the welfare and needs of our community. Firstly, we have now
                                         reopened our traffic flow back to our original traffic direction which will alleviate our
                                         bottlenecks. We have heard the views and requests from the campus community
                                         on this.
                                     47.  We understand the mixed reviews and different perspectives on the traffic
                                         assessment which have affected our campus community. After thorough
                                         deliberation and decisions by the Top Management, we have decided to revert
                                         to our original  traffic  design,  without affecting our  long term plan of our UM
                                         Masterplan.
                                     48.  While waiting for the final execution of the projects under that banner, the traffic
                                         is now reopened for the convenience and needs of our campus community. The
    32                                   reopening of the original traffic direction has now been operating smoothly for
                                         months and we hope that the community will enjoy the new ease of the flow.
                                     49.  Secondly, big kudos to the teams at the Registrar Portfolio and Faculty of Dentistry
                                         who have been working hard to get our first ever Dental Clinic for UM Staff and
                                         Students.
                                     50.  This initiative is a perfect reflection of that, in ensuring that we value our community
                                         and in ensuring seamless, efficient and quality services provided.
                                     51.  The initiative of tailor-made dental services, incorporated with the latest state of the
                                         art technology especially in embedding the benefits of AI in dental consultations
                                         and management, will be the first in the country. This marks a new chapter of
                                         success and pride of the university.
                                     52.  The Dental Clinic for Staff and Students will create a long lasting positive chain
                                         impact not only for the welfare and needs of our community, but in ensuring that
                                         financial sustainability and resilience are being taken into account.
                                     53.  This new platform will ensure that we can reduce the outflow of funds into external
                                         parties, and by having our own Dental Clinic for our campus community, it will
                                         also contribute to our internal financial funding sustainability.
                                     54.  In the higher comprehensive sense, this Dental Clinic is an action based reflection
                                         of our continuous strategic plan and emphasis on elevating the support system
                                         for our community.It is now operating and is open to the whole of our campus
                                         community.
                                     55.  The FIFTH POINT, we need to empower portfolio advancement that will align
                                         with our overall university agenda.
                                     56.  I have just completed a six-faculty tour initiative, in gathering on the ground
                                         responses and setting the synergised understanding and direction of the university
                                         to all levels of the campus community.
